Directed more than 20 animated films, received more than 50 awards at the international festivals and the Nika award. Maksimov’s films “Bolero”(1992), “5/4”(1990), “Wind Along the Coast” (2004) are in the Top 100 Russian Animated Films (the Golden 100 of Russian Animation). Since 2019, Ivan Maksimov has been the head of the directing animation division in the department of film and TV directing at the Institute of Modern Arts. He has been teaching directing in animation at Film School “Shar” (since 2004) and his own Film School “Petermultar” (since 2011).
